One Hundred Push Ups - Day 1 / Week 1

September 11th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in New Media, Photography

I started this “program” called one hundred push ups, seen on the site hundredpushups.com yesterday September 10th 2008. The program is explained at the beginning of this video or you can see it explained on the site (linked above). If you haven’t seen or started this program I recommend that you do!

This video is me starting the program Day 1 of Week 1.

Taking video while I was doing these push ups has show me that my form is horrible. In my head I thought my form was great! But seeing it on video, I realize that my butt is kinda pushed up in the air which isn’t proper form for a push up. I would recommend that you video your work outs (hundred push ups program or not) to watch your form and see if you are doing your exercises correctly. You don’t have to publish it for the world to see like I did. :)

Flickr boggles my mind!

September 3rd, 2008 | 3 Comments | Posted in New Media, Photography

I have been on Flickr since September 2006 and I just have to say that Flickr boggles my mind! Why do you say this you might ask? I feel that I am a decent very amateur photographer and when I started flickr I would only post what I would consider some of my best photography work. Recently, I started post photos of what I would consider lesser quality in content and framing and many that pertain to the trucking business. What boggles my mind is that one “lesser quality” picture of mine has more views then all of my “better” photos combined.

Examples:

Musee d'Orsay
13 total views

SNI white trailer!
794 views! WTC (what the crap)

– Need more?

34145 Truck Pix SNI
489 views

Ice Storm KC 01-02 KC
26 views

I will keep posting pictures of all qualities, but I just find it funny that certain photos that I figured would do better aren’t doing so great and photos that I figured wouldn’t do good are doing mind boggling Flickr good!

Operation “Less Dave Mass”

September 3rd, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Food, General

Weight is an issue that I have struggled with for several years. I always told myself that I wouldn’t let myself get fat or out of shape as I was growing up. But as you can see in the 1st picture taken Easter 2007 I had lost control.

Dave at his fattest!

Knowing that I needed to re-gain control of my health I started taking steps to drop the weight that I have gained and have been doing good! I have just simply changed things like types of foods I was eating, quantity, and have added exercise to my daily routine. At my largest I weighted in at a whooping 353. I am currently at just under 320. woot! You can the weight loss in my face for sure.

Less Mass Dave - More to go!

I will update as things keep progressing!

Launching a new site cookingsingle.tv soon!

August 20th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Food, Gardening, General, New Media

I have had a passion for food for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed cooking and sharing with others. With all the great new media things going on today on the web, a door has opened and giving me the opportunity to create a show and teach my passion to you! Cookingsingle.tv has been an idea floating around in my head for over a year now. I have just simply put the idea on the shelf of procrastination and have done very little with it until now.

I am happy to announce that I recorded my 1st video, or show, or whatever tonight! I still need to work on the cookingsingle.tv site, so there is no need to hurry over there, as there is nothing to see. But, if you want a sample of what you will see there, below is my 1st video.

It seems that everything on the internetz needs to be like three minute videos or else no one will watch them. Three minute videos aren’t an option in my mind for a proper cooking show. I am going to do my best to keep each show at about fifteen minutes. This show is at 15:44, but I think it’s a needed and relevant fifteen minutes. A friend of mine suggested that I cut out the washing the chicken part to save time. I agree. Please look for other areas that you think I could cut and fill with more relevant content.

So, if you have sixteen extra minutes, please watch the video and let me know what you think! Thanks for you time!

Sleepy in Vegas!

August 13th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in General, New Media, Technology

I’m in Vegas! It has been along day. I woke up at 6:30am central time and it’s now 10:01 west coast time. That makes for a long day considering the 2 hours time difference. I’m turning in so I can be nice and fully rested for the fun events going on in the morning. Good night!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I also have now seen The Eiffel Tower 3 times. Once here in Paris, Las Vegas, NV and 2 other two times in Paris, France. :)

New Media Expo 2008 Vegas!

New Media Expo 2008 Vegas!

The New Media Expo is being held on Aug 14-16, 2008 in Las Vegas and I will be there! I Just registered for the expo, got my flight and hotel all set! I have been in Vegas once before, but I was in my truck (I currently drive truck for a living) and didn’t really get to see much except a fuel pump and Vegas from the highway at 65 miles an hour. This will be an exciting trip as I will get to explore Vegas a little while learning new stuff about New Media and meeting new people. I will be shooting some video of all the stuff going on, so check back for that! See you there!

Gutter Bomb. M80?

July 16th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in General, New Media

On one of the last couple of days (07-14/16 2008) someone must have tossed some sort of explosive (probably an M80) in the gutter just above where I park my car in my carport. The explosion did decent damage to the gutter, frame of the carport and the wood sheeting for the roof. There is a tiny scratch on the hood of my car from gutter shrapnel. What happened to tossing M80’s under trash cans and blowing them 30 feet into the air instead of doing property damage? (not that I have ever seen or had an M80 : P) Come on people! think about the possible consequences to what you do.

Apple has been busy overnight lauching several new service that support the July 11th launch of the new iPhone 3G. Over night apple launched iTune 7.7, MoblieMe, and the new iPhone / iPod touch Apps Store.

If you have downloaded iTunes 7.7 and don’t see the apps store icon under library you will need to manually turn the store on by going to iTunes, preferences, general tab, click applications, then OK. Under library you will see Applications, click that, if nothing shows up, click Get More Applications on the lower right hand corner of the iTunes window. Apps!

The Chad Dance

June 1st, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in General

I have been sitting on this video for a long, long time. It was filed away in my archive picture folder and I ran across it while doing some hard drive clean up tonight. I had just got a new digital camera that took 30 second video and my roommate came in and decided to get jiggy wit it, and, well, here it is 7 years later.

I like to call it The Chad Dance:
